Dr Hargreaves is a general dentist with extra training in adult cosmetic orthodontics. He has completed fixed braces training with Powerprox, Cfast and is working his way through the Intelligent Alignment Systems (IAS) academy, which is training developed with and backed by specialist orthodontists. He has also completed training with Invisalign for clear removable aligners and has worked his way upto becominng a Silver Level Provider, on target to become a Gold Level provider next year. He also provides the Inman Aligner, which is a rapid appliance aimed at the incisor teeth only. He is currently writing up reports on his fixed cases for peer/specialist review with the IAS academy to become a fully accredited fixed braces provider and intends to complete the year long advanced training soon.
His goal is to aesthetically align the front teeth only, on a non extraction basis, to give you a great smile. This is a minimally invasive, and typically cheaper way, of improving your smile when compared to veneers/specialist comprehensive orthodontics. Average treatment times are 3-9 months, this is faster than traditional comprehensive orthodontics as our cosmetic objectives take less time, but sometimes maybe a compromise from the textbook ideal.
Dr Hargreaves believes in a full orthodontic diagnosis, treatment planning, discussion of all your options through a thorough consent process and giving you time to decide what is best for you.
Specialist orthodontist undertake many years of high level extra training, they can provide comprehensive longer term treatment to give gold standard tooth/root positions for all teeth and the ideal textbook functional bite with optimum stability. Some patients may prefer this approach or not be suitable for cosmetic orthodontics with Dr Hargreaves and require a referral to specialist orthodontic colleague who is more appropriately placed to provide this level of care.
